Edward Benfield came to the National Geographic magazine straight from The George Washington University. An anthropology major, he spent his four years learning to forensically recognize skeletal trauma, haggling with tuk-tuk drivers in Phnom Penh, and investigating Uruguayan fishing culture. Oddly, he still can’t figure out how to do his taxes. His free time is spent eating tacos and exploring the depths of the District of Columbia in his Buick.
